Who am I?
-
I am Alexandra, a data protection specialist who wants to share more of this field with everyone I meet.
Considering the rate with which this field is changing and evolving, I still think of myself as a professional in training who is so excited and passionate about the work, that I take any opportunity to learn and teach even more.
-
I’ve started my journey with a Bachelor’s degree in Law and an LLM in Law & Technology.
Throughout the years I’ve attended courses and seminars to better understand how data protection is impacting our lives.
-
I’ve worked for over 5 years in different sectors in multinational companies from UK, US and EU.
I’ve contributed to determining the gaps and building multiple European or international privacy programs.
-
Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E)- The International Association of Privacy Professionals
Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) - The International Association of Privacy Professionals

Why data protection?
I really believe this field came into my life without me actually looking for it.
It all started back in 2013 when I attended a summer school on online law. I will never forget the one course on the right to be forgotten and how much it resonated to me that we all just share all our data to all services, providers and platforms, without thinking twice. How many of us and how often do we consider if what we are getting back it’s actually worth it?
After this one course, it somehow stuck with me that everyone should do much more regarding these gigantic amounts of data - regardless if we are the ones that are identified by it or the ones that collect it and further process it for different purposes.
Once I started learning about the history of privacy and data protection, why we have these rights and what they can protect us against, there was no going back. Especially since everyone comes back with the same reply: I have nothing to hide.
